Here is the beginning of my new cave; I am a BIG Calgary Flames Fan
So I painted the top half of the walls Calgary Flames red and did the
Hockey board theme for the bottom. I still need to put the logos around
The boards to make it look a little more authentic but this is a start.

The entertainment stand is going and a bigger TV will mounted
Directly to the wall.

As you can see my walls are still pretty bare, I do have some framed
Jerseys that I plan on hanging up around the room, along with a goal light
Behind the bar.

I have placed every NHL’s team puck in the bar. I plan on Finishing the
Front of the bar with hockey sticks, in a hardwood floor fashion.

A pic from behind the bar, the electrical panel will be covered up
By a score board. The walls will have framed jerseys, it’s only a
Start. It took me about 2 months to get to this stage, I wish I had
Some pictures of before I originally started. I will keep posting new
Pictures as I get more things added.
Thanks for taking a look.

Welcome to PMC, and holy fucking shit wow! I mean, urr, umm, not too shabby, not too shabby indeed. Umm, how do I phrase the next question? (No, not THAT question, I'll let you other guys ask that one). See I'm not sure I could ever build something like that, but maybe I could, so I'm always curious how much was build by the poster (you in this case) and how much was built by a contractor/supposed expert. So, how much of the work did you do yourself?
My wife and I went to Calgary a few years ago for a few days. Beautiful city. It was fantastic. Too bad we were there during Canadian's Thanksgiving. Everything closed a bit early. Everyone was friendly. Now, when I say everyone was friendly, I mean even the homeless folks were nice. We were out looking for a place to eat Saturday night, and every thing was closed early. We ran across this homeless guy who asked very nicely if we were lost. We thought for a second then told this poor bastard that we were looking for a restaurant to eat at. He pointed us in the right direction and never even asked for any money. We walked a couple steps, wondering if he would ask for change or something. When he didn't, I turned around, sincerely thanked him for the directions and gave him a $10-er, or a goonie or some form of Canadian currency. We ate, and walked around later. We saw him later that night from across the street; as he made eye contact, he asked/yelled if we found something. We told him yes, and he bid us a pleasant evening. It's the ONLY positive experience I've had with a homeless person. Yes sir, Calgary is a fine town.

Thank you for the warm welcome and the nice compliments. I live in Atlantic
Canada so I don’t make the 7hr plane ride one way to catch the games:cry:.
I did all the work myself, except the cut out in the wall. Because this is a load bearing wall, I didn’t know what I would need to be in “Code” as per the type of headers and jack stands, I had someone come in and frame it for me and I did the rest. As mentioned the bar is only ½ ways there, I think once I get the hockey sticks on the front and side it will look even better. I hope to have that done in the next week or two I must have over 150 sticks waiting to be cut.
Back in the day they used to call me “lightning” with a hammer because I never hit the same place twice. Needless to say I am loving the nail gun, it’s much easier to work with and does a better job. This project has been one steep learning curve after another, lots of trial and error and wasted material as I fumbled through it. I am happy with the result so far and the people at the hardware store are happy with my stupid mistakes:lol:.

And you didn't make your forum name Lightning!? This is gold!
Can we get a Mod to fix that for you? 8)
Seriously, a great start to a great cave. Welcome aboard, mate.

If you want to switch the name to Lightning to that's cool with me. It's better then what the ladies call me, which is "Hey you behind the bushes" :D

Thank you for the compliments, I have just about every type of hockey stick on there from wood to fiberglass, composite, aluminum you name it. It took just a little over 300 sticks the complete the bar as you see it.
