View Full Version : Pig Ribs in the Slow Cooker

4 pounds pork baby back ribs
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup ketchup
2 cups chili sauce
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
4 tbsp. vinegar
2 tsp. dried oregano
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 dash hot sauce

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Season ribs with salt and pepper. Place in a shallow baking pan. Brown in oven 15 minutes. Turn over and brown another 15 minutes; drain fat.

In a medium bowl, mix together the remaining ingredients. Place ribs in slow cooker. Pour sauce over ribs and turn to coat. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or until ribs are tender.

Just the wife and I for this meal so we cut the meat down to 2 1/2 pounds and the chili sauce down to 12 oz (one jar).

They were moist and messy and full of flavor. Went great with some mac&cheese w/craked pepper.

however...
drain fat.

I recommend: save fat to baseline later.

Thank goodness. I thought there was another trend out there I was missing out on!
