I am new here ... been lurking for quite some time but hadn't joined until today. The reason is ... my liquor collection has finally grown to something that my countertop can no longer handle. I am in desperate need of a liquor cabinet. I figured maybe some of you guys started with something small before getting the opportunity to build your man cave, and that's where I am.
In our small-ish house, I really only have one wall left, which is where the liquor cabinet would go. It needs to be large enough to hold 15-20 bottles of liquor, ~10 bottles of liqueurs, and preferably some of my glasses. My wife has grown tired of two cabinets in our kitchen dedicated to 4 pints, 4 pilsner, 4 goblets, 2 Chimay glasses, 2 hurricane glasses, 8 high ball, 8 rocks, 4 cognac sniffers ... well, you get the idea.
The problem is, the liquor cabinets I have found online run anywhere from $600 - $1700, which is just a bit much for me to spend on something like this at the moment.
Does anyone have any good ideas on where to find a reasonably priced cabinet, or some building plans to make your own? Maybe someone here even has one for sale? Just trying to figure out my options and this seemed like the best community to do so.

You could check a store like Home Goods or TJ Max or a Pier 1. Sometimes they'll have peices like this for not too much. If you ahve one near you, check out IKEA. While I havn't seen specifically a piece like this you can probably put some of their stuff together to accompish the same goals. Also see if you have an Unfinished Furniture store around. You can usually find good deals on pieces like that and then you have the flexibility to finish it however you want.

As much as it pains me to say it, IKEA does have some "nice looking", reasonably priced pieces that can be used as liquor cabinets/small bars. **IF** the wife and I grab one this weekend (99% sure we will) I'll take some pix and post some links. While the long-term quality of the materials in certainly in question, the price and overall looks of some of their stuff aint bad. Something to think about, if nothing else.

Don't let Buch or YAT/Sparkee know this. They'll help you reduce the size of the collection back down to a size manageable by the small decorative corner shelf in your living room...
Otherwise, I agree with the above, or take a look at some of the less-expensive (generic) furniture stores in your area. Around here, we have a place called Value City Furniture which has more reasonably priced (and somewhat lessor quality) furniture.

When we buy a bottle, it never lasts more than a day or two. No cabinet needed.
Never mind, I'm no fucking help.

Ah shit. I told you. Your new liquor cabinet will be unneeded.

How DIY are you?
Go find an old dresser or hutch at a garage sale, thrift store, or swap meet and take a sawzall to it.
Hinge a few doors, take out the drawers and covert to shelves, refinish, and put new hardware on. I'll bet you get a few weekends of work and 200 bucks into something pretty bad ass.

Picked this up for free, it was getting tossed in a dumpster
That inside pan is copper, it will look nice once shined up
Needs a cleaning & new finish
Liquor cabinet sounds like a good idea
Of course since the OP hasn't been back to the site this may all be pointless
