This is not a head-to-head bet... Its a last longer. Caps makes it to the third round and Wings lose in the second round and Trann wins the bet. They don't need to meet in the Finals for the bet to be on.

I'm surprised you didn't hash out some "what-ifs" in case they both exit the same round (like whoever lasts more games), etc.
