I currently have a table in the basement that I built back in '05 but it is nothing special. So it is has been a long time coming that I finally build a nice table to complete the basement project. I had alot more pictures of making the cuts, but they were on a different camera that my wife is using right now. Anyway, here's the progress I have right now:

92" x 44" table w/5.5" rail with black whisper vinyl and large stainless steel cupholders. I will use folding legs so that it is easy to store when game is off.

Rail construction complete - thanks go out to Irish for his cupholder ring idea

Rail foamed - using the dryer sheet technique so the foam seams don't show

Now all that is left is to finalize a felt design and order the felt. Still having problems coming up with a design that I like. I will add final pics once I get the felt and complete.

Looking pretty badass... Rail looks like you got rid of all wrinkles. Nicely done!

So should I assume that going through mycustompokercloth is the best way to go or is there a better supplier for custom felt?

custompokercloths.com (Dave) is top notch.
It's really tough to beat him. Sure there's others, but his product is proven rock solid. And... he has direct contact with the product itself, where as most others sub it out to a larger shop.

That's particleboard right? Any issues using that instead of regular plywood? Is it considerably cheaper?

I tried using it because it is cheaper. for a 3/4" is around $15 here. The problem that I found is it is not cut to exact withs of 4x8. So trying to get the center is very hard. It works well for the arm rail if you get the dimensions correct.

So if I do an oval with a 40" width, and no racetrack, it would be all good though. Just cut one sheet down to 40", line them up together, and cut rest to match.

Yup ,

It is a very hard ply and will last. Thats what i do. I use a good piece to trace and use my router to trim it to match.......

You will see the ply has a lip on one side and a grove on the other. It's cheap but you don't need an expensive piece for an arm rail....

Yes, it is particle board...cost me $12/sheet. I used the table saw to rip both sheets down to 92"x44" and it was no issue after that to get proper center for the radius. I learned my lesson on this one...screw/clamp both sheet together for cutting radius as well as drilling holes for ez-loks.

I am using a sheet of 1/8" hardboard for under the table. I Cut down the inside piece of the rail cutout to 16"x64" (also cut the ends to match radius)to attach the folding legs and cut down on weight. So final table will be (from top to bottom) Rail, playing surface, hardboard, 16"x64" table leg support.

Just need to come up with a felt design
