Joannes appears to be consolidating.

They have ugly felts, no velevtine and very nice velvet.

Anyone care to state an opinion about Velvete for a table top? $10 yard

We have been using Moleskin for our tables - I'm rather impressed with it.

moleskin is kind of like what my table top is made of. I really like it. Has a slick suede feel but at the same time is tacky. Pitching the cards is easy and there is no beading.

Actually, some of the tables we have done were in Moleskin, others were velveteen. The light tan one in the forum that is for sale is acrually Velveteen. If the JoAnn's you are looking at doesn't have Velveteen, then go to a different store or I can give you some suggestions online where to buy. Felt is felt, it's the same thing that is on your pool table. Velveteen has a muhc nicer look and feel to it. If you buy what's called Royale Velvet which is sold at JoAnn's, you will be getting the same material that Hagar's tabl;e is built from and what is on my short handed (smaller red material / green rail) table, that perhaps some of you have played on.
