View Full Version : Kegerator Build
Hey Guys,
A mate put me onto this forum and I have seen a few kegerator build threads... I thought I'd put mine up..
The breif for mine was to look like it matched the house and not stick out like dog balls.. Also i wanted to hide the gas bottle and all the other fittings and simply have it look like a 'moble' bar. It was made with a chest freezer that can fit 4 18lt kegs in it..
here are some sample pics you can read the rest at my blog..

Very nice work.
Do you brew your own goods or stock it with the local favorite?
brew my own beer... I'm a all-grain brewer... all from grain to brain.. very nice stuff..

With a kegerator as nice as that, I wouldn't mind seeing your brewing setup. Have any pics of that?

Very nice. I'm thinking of going the "build a collar" route for my keezer when the time comes.
Sadly my brew rig isn't as great (at the moment) in the works of getting a few 70lt robinox pots and a new dual tippy dump frame so still on my old system... from there I will implement brewtroller automation...
below is my current setup...
Bottom left pot :My HERMS pot with around 9m of copper to keep my mash at the right temp..
Top left : is my MLT with a simple H design mash return...
Middle : my HLT 75lt Pot with a single 2200watt weldless element..
Far right : My Kettle.. it has a dual 2200watt element with a false bottom to catch the hops so it doesn't block my plate chiller.
there are two tempmates to control my elements within the HERMS and the HLT.. and its sitting on a dodgo frame..

Currently building a house with a brewroom coming off the games room so I'll have my new rig connected to town water hot/cold directly and also have it connected to the 23,000lt tank outside to use for my chiller water... the brewroom also is a wet room with a drain in the middle for easier cleaning.. we are still around 3months away from the new house but i'll post pics when it's done..

we have many kids around so I didn't go the collar route due to little hands getting my taps.. I like the on top design although its a pain in the ass when I want to get kegs out and in because I have to roll the kegerator out to open it so the taps dont hit the wall, plus the tray and taps make the lid really heavy and its only using the freezers hinges and its starting to go south so I'll have to put some other hinges on it to help..

Sadly my brew rig isn't as great (at the moment)
The hell you say. I'm still using a 20qt brew pot and a plastic carboy. lol! That setup is faaaaaaaaancy.

Nice single tier... RIMS or HERMS??
Nice single tier... RIMS or HERMS??
Brewtroller controlled HERMS.. its a full E-HERMS system... four elements all controlled by brewtroller and overriding switches.. ran out of $$ so my next step is to purchase all the motorised ball valves so I can automate a lot of the starting process.. and some of the ending.. i.e. chilling and filling fermenter..
