Have you ever noticed track lighting inserts that project logos? I am looking for a harley davidson one. Anyone know where I can get this? I have seen them in dealerships but not online.

If I recall it's a projector type light. Perhaps that snaps into a track lighting type, but it shouldn't be that hard to find.
Same thing you get at xmas time that puts the snowflakes on your house.
I'm sure someone will be able to googlefro something.

I learned a lot about lighting effects when I was into Halloween decorating.
You're looking for a gobo (or go-between) for your lights: it's usually just a cutout for simpler shapes but can also be complex gels or even glass for coloured or complicated designs.
If you're working with existing lights, I know there are gobo holders but their effectiveness will be directly related to the projecting power of the light source.
If you are buying a dedicated light, you can just buy yourself a gobo projector. Something I've just learned: they now make LED gobo projectors, probably pumping out just as much candlepower with a fraction of the heat.
Oh, and here's a homemade one.

My GoogleFu is strong but I've had exposure to a lot of things through stage and performances, education and experience, and general interest/reading.
Renaissance man of sorts, master of none, and all that: I'm still learning.

I use this gobo projector (http://www.stageape.com/pages/gobospot.html) from http://www.cheaplights.com. There are a shitpile of web-sites out there that you can order custom gobos through. I use gobosource.com for most of my stuff.
There are newer LED gobos that don't produce near the heat or electrical draw that the halogens do. Chauvet makes the Gobo Zoom (http://www.chauvetlighting.com/gobo-zoom-led.html). The nice thing about LED gobos is that you can design and print your own gobos on transparency paper.
What application are you planning on using it for?
You may be able to get away with an LED pinspot (http://www.chauvetlighting.com/led-pinspot.html or http://www.chauvetlighting.com/led-pin-spot-2.html along with your own transparency design....

She got back to me. She said the dealerships have designers that custom make stuff like that for their own dealership. As a whole she said it's not something they sell.
My friends own 2 dealerships and the wifey does all the merchandise sales.
Looks like you'll have to DIY?

Go for it! Make some pics! 8)
What I might suggest is finding a logo in B&W and copying that to a clear gel/transparency at a smaller and smaller scale. One of them should fit a hacked gobo holder and you've got your projection!
