Thanks, been looking for ideas from the site since we bought the house. Not bad for 2 1/2 days of work.

What are you planning on under the bar? Kegerator, and a couple fridges / ice machines?

Nice! What did you do to gloss up the concrete counter tops? Progress is looking nice.
What are the plans for the rest of the bar? Wood veneer finishes?

Plans?just kidding. going to do a wood finish, just not sure what yet. I'm out of funds at the moment. When I put the wifey pics, I was thinking someone is going to ask for more pics.

I tried to put color in the concrete mix, but that just didn't work to plan. So I stained the concrete and put a concrete high gloss sealer on it . It's not perfect but it does what I wanted.

From that second to the last picture, it doesn't look bad at all.

If you're going to leave it open behind the bar (no doors) I recommend painting everything black...it kind of "hides" the wood underneath and takes any focus away from under the bar.

Finally started working in the basement again. Put up a Christmas present. Used some rubber garage flooring to help protect the sheet rock.

Yeah I like that. Ideally, if they'd stick in it as I wouldn't want them to bounce off and hit the floor. Thus dulling the tip of the dart. None the less, it's clean and simple.
That is a slick idea...sorry about your saints tho

Yeah it was a tough game, but very good. The darts do stick in the rubber. My wife's first shot went right in the rubber.

Finally found some time to work on the bar, added some color and poured concrete into the next form. Photo of the concrete is bottom side of counter top the counter top will be a smooth finish after its removed from the form. It's get close to being done. Oh also put the baseboard in. The bar might be unfinished but its getting a lot of use!

Damn nice work. I like the color choice you used on the finish.
Might I suggest a quick router round over bit, or a brass / copper / protective piece on that hard edge where your feet are going it hit, kick, rest, etc.
As soon as that shows wear and tear, you'll notice it because of that hard 90* edge.

That's a good idea. I'll put that on the to-do-list.
