Took 7 months total. Had people over for drinks 5 1/2 months after I started. The floor tiling, lights and hanging stuff on the walls took the last 1 1/2 months (got busy at work). Please keep in mind, this is my first project ever building ANYTHING so I was learning as I went. Btw, the wife really helped out with ideas and things.

Very nice! - I REALLY like the tile base along the wall behind the bar.

Well done - welcome to the forum!

Hells yeah. Very nice work!
What did you use for your bar plans? Home grown on the fly or a specific plan from somewhere?

Wow, nice job. Looks great. Good choices on the colors.

Those shelves look awfully thin. I'm assuming they can handle the intended load, or you wouldn't have used them. What are they?

Is this above grade (garage) or below grade (basement)? If below, while I like the tile baseboard look, I'd be afraid of trapping water behind the tile.

Also, did you consider cutting a small quarter-hole in the back of the dividers on the top shelf (under the bar top) so you could run the rope light straight through instead of having to loop around each break? Might give it a cleaner look, but it also might reduce the amount of light, so perhaps its a bad idea.

1) Came up with the plans by ourselves (me and the wife). Took 4 iterations but it worked out nicely.

2) The garage is ground level.

3) The shelving is a bit thin but is holding up very well. It's 1/8'' birch wood. It's not permanently attached, just sitting on supports coming out from the frame. Got all my bottles and everything's okay.

Great looking bar!

I noticed in the "before" and "demolition" photos that the bar area is right up against the steps. In the finished bar pictures, you don't show how you dealt with that. Did you put up another wall? Half-wall? Railing?

Very nice work. A word of caution: be careful using words with more than 6 letters in this forum! Some of the guys may ask you for a clarification. :D
