PS3 subforum: Yellow light of death

I was playing Black Ops today and the PS3 froze up. when it tried to start up again it beeped and starting flashing a yellow the red light and won't start up. Seems this is called YLOD (Yellow light of death) Anyone had this and fixed it? Need Seems Kijiji has people that will fix it for 40 bucks as it seems due to overheating the thermal paste boils off but if I can fix it myself I will.

After watching the first and half of the second, I can safely say I'd be willing to part with $150 to have Sony do it...

I think Black Ops is one of the games that I read that works the PS3 harder than most games. I have seen overheating problems way to frequent nowadays. Mine hasnt had any problems. Knock on wood...since I use it for my games and blu ray through my surround.
