We've got a bunch of stuff on MiniDV tapes and the Mrs asked me to get it to the PC.
So I bought a firewire cable and moved the video to .avi files using Windows Live Movie Maker. The problem is they're effing enormous - a 12 minute video is over 2˝GB.
I tried opening the .avi in WLMM and saving as .wmv, but that doesn't really compress a whole lot. I watched a few YouTube tutorials, but no where in my process does it ask me what size to make the .wmv file.
Any help?
