So I turn on my TV earlier today and everything is fine with the TV.....then a few hours later I turn the TV on and now there is no sound coming from it. I have my surround sound plugged into the TV and I can still get sound thru that so I can only assume it is something in my TV. I checked all the cords and they are all plugged in. I need to try a different audio input like an s-video or av cord but all I know is that components do not work. Does sound usually just go out? I mean I know video goes out all the time but audio....? What do you guys think?

Can you get sound out of the RCA Output jacks? Or HDMI?
Maybe speakers in the TV? Don't know.
Like RR said, check the menu settings / audio / etc.

Seems odd, but I doubt it just died.
First things first, have you tried a different source? DVD, video game?

Hmmm wierd.....so I took off the components and grabbed my hdmi cable from my bluray player and plugged that into the cable box and now I have sound. Can the audio connections on the back of the TV go bad or can the cords themselves go bad. Also, why the hell have I been using component cables when I have hdmi? *facepalm*

LOL. Yeah, HDMI makes it so much easier.
I suppose it's possible for an input to die, but who knows.......
