I bought a new tv and my first ever  AV receiver 2 weeks ago. It's a samsung 3d tv - I'm not using the 3d right now but wanted to future proof - and liked the internet connectivity.
The receiver is a Denon 1612 - kind of low end. I just wanted something to drive 5.1 surround in my family room.

I hooked up the system like this.
wall coax -> verizon fios hd dvr -> hdmi in to reciever -> hdmi out to TV.
blue ray is hdmi out -> recieiver -> then of course same hdmi to tv.

Watching baseball I get a little jittery effect at times- as if the tv can't process signals fast enough.
THe TV is 240hz refresh so that shouldn't be the issue.
The verizon box is a new one and has some issues. I think I need to return it for a different one.

But I've questioned this receiver too. Is it too "low end"? Can it be the weak link in processing? It doesn't have internet access. And I'm thinking I may want that in the future. Should I return it and upgrade? I paid like $350 for it - maybe I should upgrade to the 1912 for 150 more?

Or maybe it's just the verizon box or my eyes? Or should I wire the setup differently? blue ray and verizon boxes into tv and tv audio out to the receiver?

I'm confused....

Take the receiver out of the loop so it's not doing the video switching and report back.
