I just recently joined on here and am looking to upgrade my garage.
One of the things I'd like to have is a jukebox. I have a pretty decent MP3 collection, I think it's 120g. I like media player, but I think I want to run it on an XP box I have for MAME. What sw would you recommend? I've been playing with arcade jukebox, mcab and album player. Album player looks really cool but I was looking for something free right now. The other 2 are pretty bad about managing multiple albums
Thanks
TJ

Richard Cranium has an extensive thread on his. I'm pretty sure he was running SK Jukebox, and was pretty happy with it.
I manage all of my music with Media Monkey, and it has a jukebox / party mode so it may be worth a look as well.

I run SK jukebox but it has been out of dev for quite some time. I keep it on my juke because I really like it and do not want the hassle of moving to a new setup. Someone took the old SK juke and tried to refresh/revive it. I will find a link. There are other free software options out there that will work with mame, I will try to look up some links. I admittedly am a bit out of date with this stuff.

I've tried 2 different links last night, but neither one work.
If you could find a link that would be awesome.
Thanks!

Here's a mirror of the old SK jukebox site, software written by SalmonKing. I tested the version 4.0.1 link and it seemed to work.
SK Jukebox (http://www.spacefractal.com/SkJukebox/)
This one is built for mame cabs, not sure how it works I've never used it.
JukeCade (http://jukecade.mameaddicts.com/index.html)
Look around MAME and Juke sites, you might find others that will work for your project based on your particular needs and wants, hardware you are working with, etc.
Here's my original jukebox thread, looks like most of my pic links are dead.

I so need to do this myself. I probably have enough junk computer parts laying around to take care of the electronics part. Would just need to order buttons and build a cab. I would actually hook the audio output into the stereo system in the basement, so the juke itself wouldn't need speakers.
Of course, none of my MP3s are organized in a way to facilitate a juke. I have a lot of single-tracks, the track number is not in the filename, but the artist is. I would have to rename every track I have. I do have a program to do this, so it wouldn't be terrible, but it would still be time consuming to reorganize the whole thing.
Someday...

I would suggest finding a used working ELO touchscreen on eBay instead of doing all buttons. I installed a touchscreen and it makes all the difference.

right now I was planning on using an existing stereo hooked up to the pc, for the mame, I was going to buy a good usb joystick. I don't have the time to build a cabinet or wire up buttons. I do like the touchscreen idea though. Maybe after Christmas.....

I am looking at starting a new project myself and have been researching software sk jukebox is now skg jukebox.
I am looking at converting an old Rowe jukebox to a touchscreen party center, complete with Karoke and the like.
I like this zenpoint media center as it does much more and is fairly inexpensive....

Wasn't there a thread about a dude that retro-fitted an old console stereo with a touchscreen and turned it into an mp3 media player. Pretty badass, IIRC.

SK Jukebox was programmed by a guy who decided he was done with the project and closed up shop.
SKG Jukebox is a different guy entirely who took the general framework of SK Jukebox and made it into his own program.
So they may resemble each other a bit in name and function, but they're totally seperate projects.

I use Apple TV to play all of my music through my TV/Home Theatre. It pulls all of your music off or your itunes account on your computer and plays it through your TV/Home Theatre system. It can also show pictures from your computer on your TV while your music is playing. Cost is about $120. Also comes with Netflix and you can access YouTube through your TV.
