What is your preference for the table stakes on a BYOC tourney?
I know there are some of us that prefer the higher stakes, and others that don't. Rather than a cash game, what is your level of comfort for a tourney buy in?

My preference is to keep tourneys on the cheaper side. It's a crap shoot. Keep it light and have fun with it is my angle on tourneys.

While I dont' think tourneys are a craps shoot, I prefer them to be of the higher buy in which increase the payouts and rewards those who played well, over the long run.
My preference would be in the $75 to $100 and up range.

Tourney have no "long run". They are very short term in poker time.

IMO- He (or she) who survives the longest is rewarded with the money. Surviving the longest does require a bit of luck, but there needs to be quite a bit of skill and strategy to survive as well. I think the ratio is far more skill than luck.
I'm sure others feel differently about tournament play.

Maybe it's good to have the "normal" $50 buy-in tourney monthly and a higher, say a $100 buy-in once every 3 or 4 months (with a larger field and a longer period).

I don't know what is good to have or good to not have. To each host is own. I was simply curious as to peoples preference and level of comfort.

Since we are a group we could coordinate so some host might do the lower level buy ins and some might do high ones.

Yeah, that's pretty much how it is now.
Depending on the hosts' preference and comfort level, he / she hosts within what ever range they prefer.
