MLK Day left me with an extra weekend night, so I decided to head up to JR for some more punishment. Two 1/2s and one 2/5 in progress when I got there at about 4:00. Waited about a half hour to get seated.

No familliar faces at tha table, got a little read while watching but nothing concrete. I drug a few pots but really didn't get off to a quick start. table was hard to get a feel for at first. There was one kid who was way too splashy and showed several bluffs, but other than that, it took a while to get a feel for the table.

First major confrontation was with the bluffer kid. I was in BB with 97. Flop came K97. I c/r bluffer kid on the flop. He called, acting like he was gonna play me. Turn was a blank. I bet $50 at the $70 pot and he shoved his last $30 over the top. Hmmm. WTF is kid trying to pull? I called and was realievd to see he just had AK (didn't raise pf!) Nice work kid. BUt his plan paid off when he hit an A on the river. Thank you.

I stacked back up to $100 and waited for another opportunity to watch mt chips go away. As it turns out, I was involved in several suckouts throughout the night, but I was actually the benfciary of a couple of them. In another big hand, I had A5 (again in the BB) and managed to see an unraised flop hit me for 2 pair (AK5), again I c/r the flop, this time all-in. the other guy called pretty quickly and I was very surprised to see him flip up AK, again unraised from late pos. Geez, I was drawing next to dead and was almost out of my chair when I caught a 2 outer 5 on the river. Fucking amazing.

I had another hand where I had a new bluffer kid dead to rights on an AQQ flop (I had AK he had raised with A6) River brought a third queen for the chop. He actually had 5 outs for the chop but it was till pretty brutal in the wake of a bunch of crappy cards.

I had actually caught a few hands and was up almost $80 at one point and started eying the door. It was getting late and $80 profit was feeling OK for the swings I was going through. Alright, another orbit...

I was in EP and had AQ (had gotten abunch of big Aces in EP, none of which would hook up) and limped to see a Q42 flop. I bet the pot and got raised 2 seats to my left. That cleared the table. WTF? My Q had to be good. I hadn't raised so he obviously didn't have any idea how strong my hand was. I eyed his stack (~$100) and decided to play this one very strong. "I'll put you in." and he called so fast like he wasn't aqfraid of anything. "You got a set?" Nope. But he did have KK. Wow. You got the stones to limp from EP with KK? I was very confused and not happy when half my stack strolled across the table. Took me about a half hour to stop thinking about that hand...

So back to being a little stuck I fought on. and there was one more big hand. I was in MP with AQ. A guy in EP (who I had handed a few minor beats to) was rushing a little and had been splashing quite a bit. He raised to $10, I called and then a new kid behind us who had been running bad shoved his last $69. Didna't like that much, but he could have just about anything and been making a desperation play. Original better thins a bit and finally called. I couldn't call alone, but with his money in the pot I suddenly got brave. It was most of my stack and gave it a WTF call; go home with nothing or go home square. I called. Flop came JTx. Orifginal raiser offered up enough to put me in (~$30). I looked at the pot and decided I was getting good enough odds to chase a gutshot. I called. Raiser flipped up AQ, All-in guy flipped up AK. Wow. I figured one of them for a smallish pair, maybe one of them for a big A. This was not what I figured on. Our AQs wer drawing pretty thin. The turn brought a 9, giving us 4 more outs. the river was a very ugly K (ugly for the all-in guy that is) and we chopped up his $69.

I took a couple other small pots and found myself unstuck. See ya, my job is done here. I racked out and left at about 12:30.

I've enver seen so many big hands that got limped before the flop. I saw Aces 3 times that didn't get raised (1 by a guy that "never wins with Aces") gee, I wonder why. KK and couple of big Aces from late position that got limped. A very confusing game last night.
