q: how do i find my wii console number?
a: turn on your console, and select the "wii message board" option on the bottom right of the screen. select "create a message" om the bottom left of the screen. select "address book" on the right. your wii console number is located here in the format "1234-1234-1234-1234".

q: what does this do?
a: this allows you to share your "mii" avatar with others. miis can interact with other wii users by showing up on their wii consoles through the wiiconnect24 feature or by talking with other miis created by wii owners all over the world. this feature is called mii parade. early-created miis as well as those encountered in mii parades may show up as spectators in some games.

q: what is a mii?
a: your console includes a "mii" channel, which will allow you to create a personalized avatar and stores some user information. you can select from pre-made caricatures or create your own by choosing custom facial shapes, colors, and positioning. in certain games (including wii sports, warioware: smooth moves, wii play, and the sims wii), each player's mii caricature will serve as the character he or she controls in gameplay.

I haven't, don't think I would pay for the ability to do that. Do you have an HDTV? if so, you can probably plug your laptop into it directly and display it on the screen.

I have verizon wireless hi-speed internet. I live where I get a signal to go online it's just not with all the bars. If I go in the mancace downstairs where the big screen and Wii is set up, I get no signal. Will a wireless router help my situation as far as being able to have my laptop downstairs hooked up to the Wii with the router upstairs recieving the signal? Or do I even have a clue as to what I'm talking about??? :confused:

I downloaded the browser; it's a customized Opera browser and is defnitely worth the $5. You can also get a wireless keyboard setup made for and licensed for the Wii for $45 from Logitech. (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/wii/devices/4564&cl=us,en) Using the standard Wii controller with the onscreen virtual keyboard isn't bad but I think the keyboard would be worth it.

I've seen people who live in areas that just don't have any broadband internet connection options available due to the rural nature of their neighborhood. One client I helped (I do LAN support for a large corporate firm) had a wireless router that she plugged her Verizon aircard into. She had this positioned in her house where signal strength is optimal and the router does the rest from there as far as sending the connection signal wirelessly to the rest of her house.

This sounds like the option for you.
Here's an example (http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=524). So what you'll do is plug the Verizon aircard into the wireless router and then the router will feed the signal throughout your house, to your PC and Wii. You'll likely need to get your PC a WiFi card (http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=413&sec=0)so it'll be able to communicate wirelessly to the router (which now has your PC's Verizon aircard for itself).
If you decide to go with the particular D-Link mobile router I linked to above then you'll need Verizon to swap that USB aircard for a PCMCIA type aircard. These particular aircards by Verizon are fully compatible for that router:
- Verizon PC-5740 (Verizon - Cardbus)
- Verizon PC-5750 (Verizon - Cardbus)

You first have to turn parade on ...

The you create Mii's and send them to the parade ...

And they will then wonder to other Wii's - Not sure how this part works, if you have to be Wii friends or what.
