have done differently when constructing your mancave?
I would have made my bar a wet bar and had a bathroom installed. I woulda been a little more patient and not rushed to get it done. Theres all kinds of little things that I notice that bother me that no one else sees.

Theres all kinds of little things that I notice that bother me that no one else sees.

As an avid DIY'er I find that the case with everything. My poker table, the paver patio, paint jobs around the house. It is just you taking pride in your work, and wanting it to be perfect. I guarantee the only people who notice are the ones you are pointing the flaws out too.

I would have made my bar a little smaller. If i had an extra foot back, it would be perfect.

don't know if that was directed at me....but i probably should take some pictures of my basement. I don't know if i would call it a "man cave" really. It is more like a "man corner". My corner has a craft table that flips over into a poker table (lol), 72" bar with sink, 47" 1080p LCD (and stereo). The rest is more of a kids play room.

actually, i have one picture showing part of the "man corner"....that brown table is not there anymore, and that is where my craft table sits now. I finished most of the basement in about 1.5 years (I was also getting my MBA and having another kid...which is my excuse for taking so long).

Nice Man-Corner!

In my Theater/Poker room I would have done a pull down screen and projector instead to the 73" DLP. I like the TV, but a 100" screen would have been much cooler. I still may add a projector and screen. Here is a pic of my room with the poker table:

Stand up urinal.
I haven't built mine (yet) but that will be an absolute requirement.
16" flat panel screen and a stand up urinal.

x2.

One of the ultra rich guys my brother knows from his days at the club is building a $750K party house next to his $5mil main house on the lake because his wife is tired of him partying in the house. It's complete with urinals and everything.

I'm hoping to build him a poker table...

Along those same lines, what does one of the toilets you put in a basement cost? Any idea? you know the ones that suck the shit out......

How long does it take you to pee to necessitate a flatscreen????? Or are you planning on running advertisements in your bathroom?

It's not that anyone NEEDS one, it's the pimpiosity (is this a word?) of having one.

Hey Quads......if you get the urinal and you are married I will bow to you. We built a few years ago and I REALLY tried getting the urinal and no dice????? She thought it would be messy and I tried to explain how much cleaner it would be? Hell, I'm the one that cleans the toilets anyway. But, alas I did not get the urinal. I got pretty much everything else though. Now, I wish I would have done a few things differently and I wish I would have had an unlimited budget but for the most part there is not much I'd change.

I'll post pics soon.

Would not have tried to cut corners on the A/C issue. Florida heat can be a bitch, and the little roll around A/C units I bought did not do the job.
