We started playing poker every Saturday night about 6 months ago. A friend of mine hosted a few games on his back porch, but that died off quickly. He didn't have the room for more than 1 table, and anyone not playing on that table couldn't even fit on this porch, so I brought the game to my house. We currently play 2 tables every Saturday with people hanging around watching or on a sofa hanging out.
Until now, we have been playing one table in a 13 X 13 room in the back corner of my garage and one table in one bay of the garage. Last week I started demo on the small room to expand it across into the other side of the garage. when it is all said and done the poker room will be 29 X 13 and the unfinished garage will be 29 X 22 with the stairs down the middle of the 29' dimension. I work on cars for a hobby, so I have to keep some good space for that.
Once the room is done I'll be building the tables. right now we are playing on a cheap topper for one and a 52" round table with a little foam and suede cloth stretched over it. I just wanted to come on and introduce the project. I'll be posting up pictures at some point and probably asking for some advice or opinions.

I am working on a 12x12 (approx) room now. Unfortunately I started too late in the season and the cold is preventing me from doing much.
It is an out door existing shedlike structure. it already has electricity, and is pretty solid as a start.
I am insulating, and sheet rocking once I get a couple 50 degree days in a row... once that is done, I will figure out what stays and what goes. So far, I have a foos ball table and a poker table (circle) that will fit 6 comfortably, being done by Mistershark.
I am trying to figure out what else I am going to add in there.....
I'll try to post some pics of progress as well.

I got some work done! So far I have demoed some of the partition walls that were in the way and took out the boxing around the HVAC. Yesterday I framed up the new partition wall to expand the room and got the OSB on the garage side of it. I will be getting to insulation soon.
Demo area in red. the bottom room is where we have been playing

New construction, only the basic outline. The door by the pole is for access to the HVAC. The fride is getting mounted halfway though the wall to take up less space, it will back up the the WH. Wall that the top is CMU for 5' verticle with a stick build on top of it.

When I get a chance i'll upload the pictures form the build, I'll also try to get some of my other ideas for elevations, etc up here for your thoughts.

I got the FREE insulation in and have redone the HVAC / Water heater exhaust. I have plumbed in a new HVAC vent into the room from the plenum as well. I took it all the way down to the bottom of the wall so that cig smoke wont be going into the vent. In the next couple of days I will be taking out the rest of the partition wall that needs to be demoed and start boxing in the HVAC plenum/exhaust.
The free insulation I spoke of is scrap closed cell foam from work. at the thickness of a 2x4 wall I get an R value of 14...... did I mention it was free? It also has very good sound damping properties!

Free material is always the best material. Sounds like you are getting a handle on it.
