Those red color accents with the shutters and the metal pieces are going to look great. Nice choice. Not sure on the plant other than the obligatory forsythia reference.

is there an inside joke about forsythia...that's the third person to comment on it.

any suggestions on where to put forsythia?

the crape myrtle has really gotten too tall and is overwhelmed by the magnolia. i am thinking of cutting it off an inch or two above the ground so it will recover and replace itself. If I do that, I will definitley be looking to fill in the pie shaped area under the light pole.

It is most definitely an inside joke. We have no clue what that plant is...please don't make any plans on purchasing "forsythia" or planting it around your place. Thought we were being funny. Not so much, I guess.

Carry on.

So, we been trying to sell the house for almost a year. Decided to give it a bit of curb appeal, one step at a time.

Been researching shrubbery for the front planter box that will really pop. Decided to go with 4 bridal wreath spiraea and three double knockout roses.

There is a spigot on the left hand side of the planter box, so I will try to hide that with an August gardenia.

It's been in the high 70's low 80's for a few weeks now, but supposed to get back down near freezing this Wednesday. Once the cold moves out, hopefully I can plant and mulch them next weekend.

In honor of the obligatory forsythia reference, I think I will plant two of them up against the fence between the gate and the house.
